Dean Eric Wilson, 24, of Knoxville, died at 10:35 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 1995, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Wilson was a public safety officer with the Knoxville Metro Airport Authority. He was also assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration-Provisional Task Force.
Born May 8, 1971, in Knoxville, he was the son of David E. and Kathy Wilson of Oak Ridge. He was a 1989 graduate of Oak Ridge High School and attended the University of Tennessee and Roan State Community College. He graduated from the Cleveland State Community College Police Academy.
Mr. Wilson was a senior airman assigned to the 134th Security Police Squadron as a law enforcement specialist in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He was an officer with the Knox County Sheriff's Deputy Reserves.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge and enjoyed golf and hiking. According to the family, he was always concerned with the needs of children.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson is survived by a sister, Dawn Wilson of Knoxville; paternal grandfather, Odis N. Wilson of Knoxville; maternal grandmother, Dortha Gava of Oak Ridge; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, at First United Methodist Church, 1350 Oak Ridge Turnpike, with the Rev. Ken Henderlight officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home.
