Susanna Schorn
2013-12-26SCHORN, SUSANNA MARIE - 42, died Thursday, December 26, 2013, at her home in New Market, Alabama. Susanna graduated from Oak Ridge High School where she played clarinet in the band and was selected for All State Band all three years. She also played violin in the Knoxville Youth Orchestra. Susanna was an avid snow skier and water skier having competed in water ski tournaments while in college. She had multiple cats and dogs which she rescued. Susanna graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS and an MS in civil engineering with a major in construction management. She was employed as a construction program manager for the US. Army Corps of Engineers. She traveled extensively overseas and in this country for her work and vacationing. Susanna is survived by her parents, Ethel and John Schorn; and by an aunt and uncle, Bertta and Bill Snell of Oklahoma. The family will receive friends at the Weatherford Mortuary in Oak Ridge from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 29. Graveside services will be at Oak Ridge Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 30. An online guest book may be signed at weatherfordmortuary.com.
